We have been working on counting money for months at our house. It’s a skill that is necessary to learn and the earlier they learn it, the better. If you have trouble motivating your kiddos to learn money, give them some real-life reasons they need to learn it. Ice-Cream truck, snack bar at a sports game, a treat in the check out line…! This Let’s Go Shopping Money Shopping Game will help work on some of those important life skills.

The more that they can practice using real money in real life situations, the more motivation they will have to want to know how to count. It’s not enough to be able to match money amounts but they should be able to add amounts together, count up and to give back change.
