The Best Christian Fiction for Teen Boys

Sharing is caring!

It has taken me years to convince my now teen son that books are awesome. And it’s been even harder to find good Christian Fiction for Teens. He used to have this weird aversion to the library that would leave me, and his siblings baffled and scratching our heads.

Last summer he got his hands on the first book that he has ever read and couldn’t put down. I of course went out and bought or reserved everything the author ever wrote. It’s then that I began to search for all of the best Christian books for teens and pre-teens. I came up with a Christian fiction book list that is sure to keep your pre-teen/teen guy reading.

I’m a fan of series books, because I just hate for a good story to end.

    1. I am so super grateful for this list. I can’t express how excited I am for the family to listen via Audible to The Door Within on our trip to Florida. My youngest son’s (13) name is Aden Thomas! He’s going to be so surprised.

      1. Hmmm, that’s tough for me, because it’s basically one of the only genres I can get my son to read. But Have you considered The Hardy Boys series, The Mysterious Benedict Society- there are a few books in that series, Any of the Christian Heroes books, Chuck Black has some great books too. I have a list of books that he might be interested in with my 100+ books your child should read printable.

        1. The Last Thing I Remember by Andrew Klavan. A young man wakes up with no memory, only to discover the police think he’s killed his friend, and the terrorists who actually did are after him. Fast paced and makes no hints about the Christian character of the main character.

      2. My son is 13 and has found a love for sports stories, realistic fiction, and occasionally biographies depending on the person. One of the first ones he really enjoyed was a basketball book called Travel Team written by Lupica. They tend to be good stories about overcoming obstacles and hurdles of confidence, persistence and teamwork.

    2. I recently read Out of Atlas by Damien Hine – another brilliant one for Christian (and non-Christian!) preteens and teens, similar in some ways to Narnia.

        1. Awesome! Second book launches today 😀 My kids can’t wait! Number two is called Into the Storm :):):)

    3. The best books for teenagers are by Given Hoffman, she’s an amazing Christian writer and I promise your teen will not be disappointed

    4. Thank you for this list and for all the other comments w/ book recommendations. I can’t wait to get some of these for my 13yr old. He has also enjoyed Priscilla Shirer’s Prince Warriors books.

      1. Hi Amber! Frank Peretti books can be intense and suspenseful, so I would keep that in mind. Some of the common themes involve angels and demons. I think they are great books and appropriate for mature preteens/teens, but you will know your kiddo best.

      2. Frank Peretti wrote a series for preteens/teens called The Cooper Kids Adventures. It was one of my favorite series around that age. Highly recommend!
