Summer Math Fact Game
Summer is synonymous with fun and games, but who says learning can’t join the party? This summer-themed math fact game board, turns fact practice into an engaging math fact adventure for your early elementary age student.

How to Play the Summer Math Fact Game:
- Place your game board on a table and gather your dice, game pieces, and math fact cards.
- Players take turns rolling the dice and moving their game pieces.
- If a player lands on a summer picture space, they draw a math fact card and solve the problem. If correct, they stay on their space. If incorrect, they move back one space.
- If a player lands on a rain cloud, they move back two spaces!
- The first player to reach the finish line wins.

What are other ways to use this printable?:
- Add a timer: Each player has a set amount of time to solve their math problem.
- Vary the difficulty: Include subtraction, multiplication, or division facts for older children.
- Make it competitive: Keep track of who answers the most questions correctly.
- Turn it into a relay race: Divide into teams and race to the finish line.
- Add a “Chance” card: Create a few cards with fun surprises like “Move forward 3 spaces” or “Roll the dice again.”

Extension Ideas to Further Learning:
- Fact Family Challenge: When a player lands on a picture, they draw a fact family card (e.g., 3 + 5 = 8, 5 + 3 = 8, 8 – 3 = 5, 8 – 5 = 3). They must solve all equations to stay on the space.
- Estimate & Check: Before solving a problem, players estimate the answer. They earn bonus points if their estimate is close!
- Create Your Own Problems: Have kids write math fact word problems based on summer activities.
- Multi-Step Problems: Include challenges that require multiple steps to solve, like “Emily bought 2 ice cream cones for $3 each and a soda for $2. How much did she spend?”
