Brinkman Adventures: Season 6 Underground Rising {Review}
I love adding audio dramas to our listening time and was pretty darn excited to be able to receive the digital version of Season 6: Underground Rising from Brinkman Adventures.
One of my homeschooling besties introduced me to the Brinkman Adventures a year or two ago with a borrowed cd that we listened to in the car on a roadtrip, and since then I try and get my hands on them whenever I can.
If you have ever listened to any of the other audio dramas from Brinkman Adventures, you know they don’t disappoint. With every new adventure you get drawn into the story line through the great acting, intense stories, and sound effects. The Brinkman Adventures is a show about real missionaries and their true stories and as the name suggest… their adventures. Names and places may have been changed but the stories have not.
They recently released season 6: Underground Rising.
There are 6 episodes in this season with a total run time of about 2 hours. Each episode is about 20-30 minutes each.
As you are listening to these stories you are drawn into the lives of these missionaries. You get a feel for the region they are living in and the dangers they faced or are facing even now. I think this is really important for us to teach our children that these people paid a price and that these people really sacrificed a lot to tell people about Jesus. Sprinkled throughout each of these stories is a godly theme that sends a strong message to listening ears.
We loved the Dutch Underground with it’s rich history and storyline. It gave us lots to talk about. We have yet to study this part of history yet, so many of the stories and places were new to the kids.
Free Burma Rangers was especially intriguing to us because we have a large Burma population in our city and our church does outreach to them. It was fascinating to be drawn into this story and understand a little bit more about the culture of the people around us.
Each of the audio stories are unique and worth listening to. We had the digital version which was easily downloadable and able to be transferred to a CD or mp3 player. It can also be downloaded to just about any device that you would use to listen to music with.
