Bonus Ideas to go along with the printables:
- Turn it into a game! Have students race to see who can finish their printable first (while still being accurate, of course!).
- Add some writing! Have students write a story about their gingerbread man or create a word problem to go with the graph.
- Make it sensory! Use puffy paint or glitter glue to add some texture to the printables.
Adaptations for Different Skill Levels:
- For younger students: Use simpler addition problems or have them focus on just one shape at a time for the graphing activity.
- For older students: Create more challenging addition problems or have them create their own graph with different categories.
Extra Gingerbread man Resources:
- Read the classic story “The Gingerbread Man.” or this fun one with printables: Gingerbread Baby
- Bake real gingerbread men! (And maybe even let them decorate them with the same shapes from the graphing activity.)
