Thanksgiving Punctuation Practice
When the holidays start approaching its often hard to keep the learning motivation up. Our kids (and us!) are excited about all the upcoming things! Keep them focused but having fun by spicing up your Thanksgiving lesson plans with this fun, printable punctuation activity for 2nd graders! Thanksgiving Punctuation Practice Needed Supplies:
- The Printable
- Pencils: No. 2 is the classic choice!
- Crayons or Colored Pencils: For all that festive coloring!
- Optional: A timer for some friendly competition.
Prep Work (Easy as Pie!):
- Print: Make sure you have enough copies of the printable for each student.
- Gather Supplies: Have everything ready to go so your little turkeys can dive right in!
Directions for the Thanksgiving Punctuation Worksheets
- Worksheet 1: Turkey Time! Students read the sentences inside each turkey feather. They decide which ending punctuation mark is needed (period, question mark, or exclamation point) and write it at the end of the sentence. Then, they color the feather according to the color key (e.g., periods = red, question marks = yellow).
- Worksheet 2: Punctuation Match-Up! Students read sentences and draw a line to the correct ending punctuation mark.
