Dinosaur Cut and Paste Shapes
Preschoolers are like little explorers, constantly discovering new things and honing their skills. One of the most important skills they’ll learn is how to use scissors, and what better way to practice than with a fun, dinosaur-themed activity! In these dinosaur cut and paste shape sorting printables your preschooler will practice identifying shapes, coloring and practice cutting.

Dinosaur Cut and Paste Needed Supplies
- Printable sheet with dinosaur outlines and various shapes
- Safety scissors
- Glue stick
- Crayons or markers (optional)
Prep Time – Easy Peasy
- Print out the dinosaur and shape sheet. Make sure you have enough copies for each child.
- If desired, have your little ones color in the dinosaurs beforehand to make them extra vibrant!
Let’s Get This Dino Party Started!
- Explain to your preschoolers that they’ll be helping some dinosaurs find their missing shapes! Show them the different shapes and the dinosaur outlines.
- Have them carefully cut out the shapes. This is where the fine motor skills magic happens! Remind them to take their time and watch their fingers.
- Now comes the matching fun! Encourage them to look closely at the dinosaur outlines and figure out which shapes belong where.
- Once they’ve matched the shapes, it’s time to glue them on! Make sure they use just enough glue to keep the shapes in place.
