- Scissors
- Glue (optional)
What Do I Need to Do to Prep for This Activity?
- Print out the number mats and picture sheet. You can laminate them for durability if you’d like.
- Cut out the pictures from the picture sheet.
How Do I Use This Activity?
- Give each child a number mat.
- Have them identify the number on their mat.
- Instruct them to find the matching pictures and count out the correct number to place on the ten frame. For example, if their mat has the number 3, they would find the picture of the tree and place 3 trees on their ten frame.

Bonus Ideas to Make it More Fun:
- Turn it into a sorting activity by having students sort the pictures by category (e.g., things that grow, things that help us recycle).
- Use the pictures to tell a story about Earth Day and how we can take care of our planet.
