How to Teach Math Facts and Skills
Understanding math and knowing how to teach math are two different skill sets. Some of the smartest people I know, struggle to help or teach their children math. It’s no secret that I’m no math ninja, but as someone who struggled with math myself, I understand the importance of developing strong foundational skills in our students. Knowing how to teach math facts and skills doesn’t have to be intimidating. I have created many resources here on Schooling With Grace that will help you get started, and not only instill a love for numbers, problem-solving, and critical thinking early on, but make you the hero with fun and engaging activities.

Math Facts vs Math Skills
Before delving into teaching resources, it’s essential to distinguish between math facts and math skills. Math facts encompass the memorization of basic arithmetic operations, while math skills involve the application of these facts in various problem-solving scenarios. Both are integral components of mathematical proficiency.
Teaching Math Facts
There are so many strategies that can be used in teaching math facts. One of my favorite ways of making sure that learning them really sticks is to do it through games and activities.
